This page sets the company name, address, phone, and email information that is displayed in the shopping cart.
The developer email is where site error notification emails will be sent in the event of an error on the site.
The company URL should, in most cases, be the same as the site URL, but could be something different should this better fit your situation.
The company email is where all sales notifications will be sent. This is also the email that will be used in the notifications sent to customers.
Remember that this information is what will be visible to your customers, so it should be accurate and be the address that most pertains to them. For example, it may make better sense to have your main sales location information here rather than a corporate office.
This page allows you to manage the Credit Cards you want to accept in your store. The Credit Card Name is what appears on the web, and the Credit Card Code is the value that is passed to your payment authorization vendor. Some gateways and processors require specific credit card codes, while others only use the name or completely ignore this value.
This page allows you to enable or disable the discount functionality of your Cartweaver store and to control how and where the discounts will be displayed to your customers.
On this page, you can set three shipping parameters that affect how and how much shipping will be charged. The way shipping is calculated is quite powerful, so it's worth spending some time planning it here. There are three shipping settings: Base, Range and Location Extension.
Un-checking this box removes shipping from the checkout process and order calculation entirely. This may be what you wish to do if you do not ship products, but deliver services or the like. With this enabled, you will still be able to designate individual products as No Shipping Charge products, so the only time you'd want to un-check this is if you do not charge shipping at all.
If enabled, the "shipping information" step of the checkout process will still be shown when only one shipping method is available. If unchecked, it will be skipped automatically.
Check this box to show shipping form fields on the order form, and shipping totals in order confirmation.
The base shipping rates don't have anything to do with order cost. A base rate is a flat rate that will be charged for a particular method. Postal = 5.00, UPS Ground = 8.00, FedEx = 12.00; or Standard = 5.00, Express = 10.00 and so forth. This base rate can serve as a "floor" on which all other shipping rates are added, or it can serve as a flat shipping rate by turning the other shipping rates off.
The location extension is a multiplier that loads an additional percentage to the shipping cost based on destination.
Assume you are charging all three shipping parameters. Here's how it works:
The net result of this is that this state is being charged 125% of what the shipping would cost somebody in your home state, where the extension would reasonably be set to 0%.
Range allows you to define a shipping cost based on the total weight or cost of an order. Add up the total weight/cost of the package, find a range in which the order total weight/cost fits for the shipping method that has been selected, and that's your shipping cost. If Base rate is selected, the range cost will be added to the base rate to come up with the total shipping cost.
Here you select whether you want to calculate your shipping costs based on the subtotal dollar amount of the order, or on the total weight of all the items placed in your cart. The most common is by weight, and if you are using a third-party shipper connection (UPS), you'll want to leave this set to weight.
If you do not wish to use UPS shipping services, simply leave it make sure all UPS fields are blank, this will disable the UPS function.

Cartweaver supports a fail-safe shipping system that ensures your store will continue to be able to take orders in the event of a failed 3rd party shipper connection. If due to a connection issue or service outage your store cannot make a connection with the shipper, instead of throwing an error, or brining back a false or zero shipping charge, or worse yet causing a failed checkout, Cartweaver will revert to the built in shipping matrix and use this system to calculate the order's shipping charge. To make this system work for you, be sure to set up shipping ranges, or at lease one range, for each shipping method, even if it is a shipping method for a third party shipper.
By combining the three shipping methods and adjusting the shipping extension based on actual shipping costs, you can dial in a very precise shipping matrix.
Shipping rates from third party shippers are an estimation - your actually shipping costs may be different based on any number of variables such as the number of, or the sizes and weight of the actual product being shipped. It is always a good idea to track actual shipping cost and compare them to the amounts charged on the orders. If there is a notable discrepancy you can modify the weight of the product or the base shipping charge to make the estimates more accurately reflect the actual costs.
This page is where you set the way your store will handle sales taxes. There are three general ways that Cartweaver handles taxes:
The Local - General setting is the most common in the US. This is where you set what states you will charge sales tax for and what percentage of sales sold into the state(s) will be charged.
Tax Groups is a far more robust system that allows you to set up different tax levels for different products or regions. This system works very well for Canadian tax and EU VAT tax.
Third Party - AvaTax is a third party tax system that off-loads sales tax calculation to the Avalara AvaTax system. Order details are passed to the AvaTax system, and the sales tax is calculated on the order based on all the sales tax parameters for the appropriate state or province. The correct tax amount is passed back to the cart and is added to the order. As sales tax rules and laws get more complex, tying into a robust third party system like this will make staying up with and remaining in compliance with tax laws much easier.
